 Greetings!

It's been four years since the brewing of the first cup of Laugh-A-Latte. Every third Saturday of the month (except May), comics and audience members have gathered at Hot Java Coffeehouse to share the gift of laughter.
An always versatile gourmet blend of comedians, from first timers to veterans from LOGO and Comedy Central, perform to a robust standing room only crowd. There's never a cover charge, fans are just asked to support the venue by purchasing a cup of coffee, a pastry or a sandwich.
One of the highlights of Laugh-A-Latte is Tom "Hot Fingers" O'Malley, our resident sign language interpreter. Our faithful Deaf fans are a welcomed addition to one of the most diverse comedy rooms in town. Rumor has it some hearing audience members come just to watch Hot Fingers in action!
Laugh-A-Latte is produced and hosted by Carlease! an actress/comic who has been seen in commercials, TV shows and films such as GEICO A Bird In The Hand, Shameless, In Her Shoes and The Back Up Plan. She travels and hosts on cruise ships and Pride Festivals all over the country.

ADORABLE ADORING FANS
Laugh-A-Latte regulars look forward to the monthly comedy show and have started arriving an hour early to get a seat.

Dear Stage Mom, I had the weirdest experience this week. I got an email from an actress whose work I admire that simply read, "Please do not use my name to try and get representation from my managers." I have performed stand up with this actress once and all I did was call her managers, tell them we were comedy buddies and asked them to represent me. They said they weren't taking on any new clients at the moment and I said, "But I can make you money. Don't you want to make money?" At that time they were a bit abrupt and the conversation ended. Everyone was rude as far as I'm concerned. Don't you agree?
~Show Them The Money Dear Money ,
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share about show biz etiquette this month.
If you're seeking representation with a company who is working for someone you know, the proper procedure is to ask the talent if he or she can recommend you first and take it from there. You can't just do that with anyone, it should be someone you know well. Performing with someone one time does not make you "buddies". It is not polite to call agents and managers and just use people's name to try to get a meeting with them. Remember, people talk in this industry and it sounds like they told their client about your call. And then to tell them that you can make them money? Believe me, they already know who they can bank on. When you get to the point where you are a big money maker they'll be calling you!
So no, I don't agree. I think it's you who needs to check your rude meter and then turn it down several notches. That's what your "comedy buddy" was trying to tell you in her email.
