HOT JAVA COFFEEHOUSE CELEBRATES 4 YEARS OF
LAUGH-A-LATTE!!
It's been four years since the brewing of the first cup of Laugh-A-Latte. Every third Saturday of the month (except May), comics and audience members have gathered at Hot Java Coffeehouse to share the gift of laughter. 
An always versatile gourmet blend of comedians, from first timers to veterans from LOGO and Comedy Central, perform to a robust standing room only crowd. There's never a cover charge, fans are just asked to support the venue by purchasing a cup of coffee, a pastry or a sandwich. 
One of the highlights of Laugh-A-Latte is Tom "Hot Fingers" O'Malley, our resident sign language interpreter. Our faithful Deaf fans are a welcomed addition to one of the most diverse comedy rooms in town. Rumor has it some hearing audience members come just to watch Hot Fingers in action! Laugh-A-Latte is produced and hosted by Carlease! an actress/comic currently seen in the GEICO A Bird In The Hand commercial as well as TV shows and films such as Shameless, In Her Shoes and The Back Up Plan. She travels and hosts on cruise ships and Pride Festivals all over the country.

 Ralph Cole Jr. (Harry's Law, Cold Case, The Interlopers), Carlease Burke and Garrett Morris After seeing my work as Bob/Roberta on SHAMELESS, Garrett Morris invited me to perform a guest spot at his place, The Downtown Comedy Club in Los Angeles. He said my role as the foul-mouthed, aggressive, diesel dyke was so convincing, he had to "see for himself". And that's exactly how he introduced me! Dear Stage Mom,
I have just survived the most stressful two weeks of my life. My relationship with my boyfriend ended while serious family issues regarding the care of my mother were just beginning. All during my relationship, my boyfriend desperately wanted to be included in my act but I could find nothing funny. Now that we have broken up, I have a brand new 15 minute bit just from ranting and trying to "get it all out". What's that all about?
~Pain IS Funny Dear PIF, You've already answered your own question. The good stuff, the happy times are not funny. There is so much universal humor in the things that we hate, things that annoy us or make us mad and things that are stupid. Ranting is one of the techniques I teach in my comedy workshops. It's a great way to come up with comedy material so enjoy this creative process and don't forget to invite your ex to your show. Let's see how funny it is to be included in your act.
