Greetings!
LAUGH-A-LATTE CELEBRATES 3 YEARS!!

Laugh-A-Latte celebrated its 3rd anniversary at the Hot Java Coffeehouse in Long Beach, CA on January 16th, 2010. Pictured above is the cake with a photo of last year's cake on it. It's a cake within a cake on a cake. Ken and Sergio (owners of Hot Java) are even wearing the same color shirts. Let's see how long we can keep that traditional going.
Hot Java owners and baristas, Ripples owner John, and the bakery went all out for this momentous occasion. The place was packed and we had a star studded line-up of comics. You're always guaranteed a full of evening of fun at Laugh-A-Latte.
The show takes place every third Saturday of the month and includes first-time comics as well as stand-up veterans from LOGO and Comedy Central. An always versatile gourmet blend of comedians perform to standing room only audiences for the price of a cup of coffee, a pastry or a sandwich. Laugh-A-Latte is produced and hosted by Carlease! a comic and an actress seen in commercials, TV shows and films such as The Terminal, In Her Shoes and The Back Up Plan. She travels and hosts on Olivia Cruises as well as Pride Festivals all over the country.
Ken and Sergio say the locals look forward to the monthly comedy show and have started arriving an hour early to get a seat.
Come on down and LAUGH-A-LATTE on November 20, 2010.

Ask Stage Mom
|
Dear Stage Mom, I have a solo show that I have been work-shopping around town. I really want to do a full production of it, but I'm broke, about to lose my house and I'm working a piece of crap job just to pay the bills. I'm at the end of my rope and that rope is about to break! I'm never gonna get my show up. ~Broke, Busted & Disgusted
Dear BB&D,
The first thing I notice is your language. I know it's important to live in the reality of your situation but all that negative talk is going to keep you stuck there. You have the desire to do a full production of your show and the fact that you have gotten this far shows me that you are not afraid to do the work necessary to achieve your dreams. However, it sounds like it may not be possible right now. In the meantime, have the mindset of someone who is temporary working to be able to do what you really want to do later on. See if you can enter some festivals and possibly get someone else to produce it for you.
Think positive, speak positive and you will receive positive results!!
BE A STAR WHERE YOU ARE!
Email your questions about acting, comedy, solo show production or any aspect of show business to bitsnpieces@verizon.net and I'll answer them in the next month's Ask Stage Mom.
