All in all it's been a pretty good year but I want to stay focused on an even better things to come. There are some things I would love to leave behind and at the same time I want to keep what worked and step it up a notch. Any ideas on how to make that happen?
~ Movin' On Up
Dear Movin',
For the past several years I have made a conscious effort to get together with friends to close out the old year and welcome in the new in a few different ways. You may want to try one of these:
1) I've been creating vision boards since back in the day when they were called treasure maps. Take some poster board and old magazines and cut out pictures and words that represent your goals. Make a collage on the poster board and hang it where you will see it every day. I tend to add to it throughout the year.
2) Writing down your goals can be very powerful. List them in a journal or with a group of friends write your selves letters on New Year's Eve announcing your goals as if they have already happened. Seal and self address them then give them to someone in the group to mail at the end of the year. When you open that envelope a year later, you'll be amazed at your accomplishments.
3) As for what you don't want, I have written those things on little slips of paper and burned them (outside) before midnight of the new year. Gone. Done. It is finished and I try not to give it any more energy.
Have fun with these ideas and have a blessed New Year.
