Scrumptious chocolate AND a poem  

Chocolove started as the classic entrepreneur story - a dream, a garage, extended credit card debt and loans from friends and family. With its visionary chocolatier, and a solid concept, Chocolove became, and continues to be, a pioneer in the chocolate industry.

The idea was simple - a selection of distinctly flavored chocolate bars made with all-natural ingredients and the classic techniques of Europe's finest chocolatiers. The package design would resemble a love letter sent from a distant land, and inside each wrapper - a classic romantic poem. The cocoa content would be clearly indicated on the front of each wrapper, the tasting notes would be simple and approachable, and the price, affordable.

Village Candy has offered Chocolove from our very start - they seem to represent the perfect point between exceptional taste, quality ingredients and reasonable price - and they've just released three new additions to their fantastic lineup. 

Peach & Pecan in Milk Chocolate consists of plump dried peach pieces and pecans in creamy Belgian milk chocolate. Whether it reminds you of pralines or peanut butter and jelly, it strikes a flavor chord that you feel you've met and loved before. Salted Peanut in Milk Chocolate is dry-roasted and salted peanuts in creamy milk chocolate - a taste we've all grown up with and love. Chocolove has taken this classic combination to new heights by using premium milk chocolate and premium dry roasted peanuts. This is now a 

truly memorable bar. Chocolate Pretzel in Milk Chocolate is crunchy bits of salty pretzel sticks contrasted with creamy milk chocolate, to make for a yummy taste treat. Spaniards have been eating bread and chocolate for years. I guess now we have too. And don't forget their Almonds & Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate Bar (in two sizes). We can't keep 'em in stock.

It's been a while since our last pop tasting, but we've been feeling the itch. Actually, other than putting salve on that itch, we've been fine-tuning our pop offerings. All kinds of new "effervescent varietals" have been accumulating - over 90 cases in just the past week!

So let there be tasting! And let it occur on Saturday, April 21 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Sure, it's only February now, but that gives you plenty of advanced notice - put off that vacation or graduation or anniversary. C'mon, this is an Official Village Candy Root Beer Tasting. Past Root Beer Tastings have drawn over 200 people, so we wanted plenty of time to prepare and give you plenty of time to procrastinate and then sign up.

Brand new Root Beers (to Village Candy) include Capone "Family Secret" Root Beer (pictured up to the left). In the 137 raids made by police on Al Capone's warehouses, one of the only things found every time was cases of the "Capone Family Secret" soda. THIS right here is supposedly that recipe. We kid you not. Also in: Crater Lake Root Beer, Dang Butterscotch Root Beer, and Dorothy's (from the Dorothy Molter Museum in Ely, MN).

We store many of these bottles in our off-site high-security storage facility, buried deep within Mt. Yournamehere. We couldn't possibly fit all the Root Beer varieties in our cooler and still cater to the Ginger, Cola and Cream aficionados, so if any of them interest you in particular, give one of us a wink or shoot us an email before you come in. We'll make sure we have it or them available when you arrive (after we jet to Mt. Yournamehere, give the "high" sign, whisper the secret password, pass the badbreathalyzer test and shake the guard dogs off our legs).
