Greetings fellow candy lover!

It's that time again, the one where Village Candy, in its purely altruistic mission to assist its customers in any way it can, creates an easy guide to aid in customers' efforts to check everyone off their "good" list. Since there is just no way we could fit every option below, remember that there's also our broad range of festive and awfully delicious Christmas-decorated chocolate-smothered pretzels, pretzel rods, nonpareils and rice-crispy pops. We also have a beautiful assortment of bagged customary Christmas candies, including old fashioned hard mix, mint straws, chocolate-filled straws, cut rock, holiday gummy bears, gumdrops and holiday and peppermint Kisses. And don't forget holiday lollipops of all shapes and sizes, novelties, coal candy (for your "bad" list) and an assortment of other treats.

Just remember, nothing in our store is a true necessity, but it sure is welcomed and brings smiles to any and every giftee's face. And we guarantee NO ONE will be disappointed.

Saratoga Sweets
Some new, old-fashioned items

Historic Saratoga Springs, New York is home to small town confectioner Saratoga Sweets. Their Peppermint Pigs were a big hit last year (no pun intended, since they're the designated target of the mallet that comes with them), so we double ordered them this year, and there's only one left! (Note to self - order yet more still in 2012) But luckily, we ordered a fewPeanut Butter Cubs other intriguing items from this high-quality candy maker. Peanut Butter Cubs are individually packaged PB cups the size of a cupcake, with a paw print on top and "so much creamy peanut butter there's nearly room for the chocolate." Also from Saratoga, we couldn't resist Victorian Sugarplums, since they're always dancing in children's heads. They're a truly delicious confection similar in fashion to a Belgian chocolate truffle laced with a hint of plum. They come in an 8-piece gift box with a legend card. And last, but not least, from Saratoga are gift boxes of delicious peanut brittle. They were a huge hit last year.

Exotic Chocolate Bar Sampler
Vosges or Taza, you can't go wrong

Just in time for the holiday season come some new Exotic Vosges Banana Victoria BarChocolate Bars from the artisan chocolatiers at Vosges Haut-Chocolat. Grenadian nutmeg is freshly ground into 62% cacao dark chocolate for Vosges' first new offering, before roasted walnuts and dried organic bananas from the big island of Hawaii are combined to create the Banana Victoria Bar. The flavors are reminiscent of pain d'epices,Vosges Smoke & Stout Caramel Bar a French spice bread often served at the holidays. Next up is an entirely new experience - rich, dark Rogue's Chocolate Stout (yup, stout) and Alder wood smoked salt are combined with soft, oozing burnt-sugar caramel and encased in deep, dark 70% cacao chocolate. And finally, rich, burnt, delicately salted caramel (with Pink Vosges Pink Himalayan Salt Caramel BarHimalayan salt - supposedly with an ancient energy, nutritive qualities and a delicate flavor) trickles out of 70% cacao dark chocolate in this Pink Himalayan Salt Caramel Bar. Put together a bar triad, or have us build you a multibar gift box, or select from their many other exotic bars, including second-year holiday treats Gingerbread Toffee Bar, Peppermint Candy Cane Bar and Marzipan Bar.

Taza Chocolate produces 100% stone ground, minimally processed chocolate in a sustainable way, compensating cocoa bean growers fairly for their work. Their chocolate is wonderful tasting, and different from anything else outTaza Chocolate Discs there. It's roughly textured, more of a Mexican style. And their discs bypass the conching process, which can smooth the texture, but can also mellow some of the bean's distinctive flavor notes. They're perfect for shaving into hot chocolate or eating out of hand, and come in 11 delicious varieties. They're organic, gluten-free, vegan, soy-free and irresistible. They make a stunning presentation in a gift box!

PEZ Gift Sets
Limited Edition Gift Sets Galore

Edward Haas came up with a new peppermint candy in Austria in 1927. The word PEZ comes from the German word for peppermint (pfefferminz). It was an adult breath mint that he decided to market as an alternative for smoking. From the word pfefferminz they took the first, middle and last letter and came up with the word PEZ.

PEZ was initially carried around in pocket tins. Then in 1948 they came out with the first "easy, hygienic dispenser" that we now recognize. In 1952 PEZ wanted to expand their sales to the U.S., so they placed heads on the dispensers to make their product more appealing to Americans, and marketed it for children. In 1958 the company came out with the first three: Mickey Mouse, Casper the Friendly Ghost, and Popeye.

Alas, Edward Haas, look what you've wrought upon this planet. Hah! Along with our huge selection of current PEZ dispensers, we have a small stock of limited edition gift sets. Along with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (8
PEZ Presidents of the U.S. Collector's Setpieces, duh), Lord of the Rings (8 pieces also), Handy Manny
(4 pieces), Disney 80th Anniversary with poster (3 piece) and
Thomas the Tank Engine (4 pieces in a metal lunch box) is the latest, Presidents of the United States (Volume 1: 1789-1825). It's the first in the "Education Series" and each of our first five Presidents is incredibly detailed, with its name printed in white along its base, and with portraits and facts printed on the back of the gift box. And, of course the best part is that each set comes with its own PEZ candy.

And don't forget our selection of Giant PEZ too!
