Greetings fellow candy lover!

The season o' fun has begun. Halloween is old news, and we're prepared for our favorite holiday - Thanksgiving. Village Candy is brimming with seasonally-colored chocolates, chocolate turkeys and more. And Christmas candies are arriving daily. Sewickley Wine Walk is coming up this Wednesday, November 9th.  All the roadwork and exterior repairs are done, so nothing's impeding your progress to our open door.
Caramels Take Center Stage

So, is it ca-ra-mel or car-mul?

A customer came in one day (you know who you are) and told us to check out a particular gourmet caramel company. And being a customer-oriented business, we decided to investigate. Thank you, they were unbelievable - and now we're offering them to you.

If your idea of a caramel is the typical Kraft® cube (not that there's anything wrong with that), then you've got to Bequet Sackgive these Béquet Caramels a try. They just melt in your mouth, caressing your tongue like they were made yesterday. They're crafted in Bozeman MT, Big Sky Country. Robin Béquet set about to make the very best caramels available just after she was downsized during the dot com bust. She'd been known amongst her friends and family for her homemade caramels and decided it was time. Blind taste tests showed 17 out of 18 adults tested preferred Béquet caramels over four other high end gourmet caramels.

Maybe it's because Béquet slow simmers the finest ingredients to create the smoothest, creamiest most exquisite tasting gourmet caramel. Each batch is hand-crafted under the watchful eye of a master caramel chef. Béquet Gourmet Caramel is all natural - no artificial colors or flavors, no preservatives, Kosher Certified and Gluten-Free Certified.

Their list of flavors is quite intriguing, but we thought we'd introduce them gently, starting with these three:

Celtic Sea SaltCeltic Sea Salt - with a subtle Celtic Sea Salt finish that entices the tongue and accentuates the buttery caramel flavor. One taste and you will know why this award winning caramel is so popular.

Soft CaramelSoft - a traditional soft, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth caramel. Soul-satisfying, comfort food.

Chocolate CaramelChocolate - a soft, melt-in-your-mouth, dark chocolate decadence with distinct caramel overtones...a chocolate lover's paradise.

We know that after you try one, you'll want a whole mixed bag. Trust us.

Cool New Beans from the Bean People

Jelly Belly Snapple MixWhat happens when you cross a Jelly Belly with a bottle of Snapple? Jelly Belly and Snapple have united in a new product - Jelly Belly Snapple Mix. The new beans use real fruit juice and purees to recreate the flavors of several Snapple drinks: Fruit Punch, Mango Madness, Cranberry Raspberry, Pink Lemonade and Kiwi Strawberry. The Mix, as usual, is fat, gluten and dairy-free and certified OU Kosher - "made from the best stuff on earth!™" Village Candy has them now in 3.1 ounce bags and soon, in little Snapple bottles!

New Pops Arriving Regularly
First Up - This One's Smokin'!

Sounds like a bit much, but so did the chocolate/bacon alliance at first. Seems like as society progresses towards a healthier lifestyle, it simultaneously migrates towards all things fat and salt. Has anyone noticed the preponderance of upscale menu offerings involving pork belly, bone marrow, fatty burgers, duck-fat fries and fatty cheeks? And how about salted

Lester's Fixins Bacon Soda

caramels (see above)?

In an effort to celebrate all things smokehouse, Village Candy has been doing its part to restore the illustrious fatback to its rightful throne. Bacon chocolate bars have become a standard component of our inventory, so we're trumping that with Lester's Fixins Bacon Soda!

"Y'all get yer fixins!" Made with pure cane sugar in the USA (where else could such a product get a life?) Lester's Fixins Bacon Soda is an absolute must-try, if for no other reason than to satisfy your curiosity. Upon prying the cap, you'll be greeted with an honest-to-goodness bacon smell, as if you just finished frying up a batch. The taste is what the name promises: liquid bacon. Do we really need to go on? It's bacon soda: grab a bottle today, but don't wait. When it's gone...

Also in the beverage vault is the entire six variety-line of Avery's Totally Gross Sodas (though the real flavors sure sound inspired). With great hand-drawn graphics, they include:

Swamp Juice - This greenish-brown tonic is the most complicated formulation with over a half-dozen flavor ingredients. It actually has a surprisingly delicious fruity taste!

Toxic Slime - This electric blue soda with white floaty bits looks like a science experiment gone wrong. Blue raspberry, orange and lemon are the dominant flavors in this tasty soda.

Avery Dog Drool Soda

Dog Drool - Pinkish white with lots of character, it looks like Rover's saliva glands are working overtime. This orange-lemon soda will have you drooling too!

Avery Bug Barf Soda
Bug Barf - Something this guy's been eating didn't agree with him, but this greenish-yellow kiwi/pineapple mix is absolutely delicious. It's sure to agree with you!

Avery Kiddy Piddle Soda

Kitty Piddle - Oops, kitty had an accident. But the taste of this pale yellow, orange/pineapple mix is no accident. Bad kitty! Good soda!

Avery Monster Mucus Soda

Monster Mucus - This deep purple potion has lots of body and is bursting with flavor. A monster combo of strawberry and blue raspberry. It's berry tasty!

Village Candy is an old-time, new-fangled retail shop specializing in a unique selection of retro and current bulk and novelty candy, artisan chocolates, glass-bottled pop and candy-themed gifts. Oh, and remember customer service? It's back!
