Convince AACSB to Teach Management Science

An INFORMS Committee led by John Birge of the University of Chicago is currently working on asking AACSB, an organization of business school deans that accredits business schools and sets standards for their curricula, to enforce its requirements for teaching management science. Kalyan Singhal of the University of Baltimore is preparing a detailed report tentatively titled, "Management Science: Opportunities for Business Schools." His report will explain how MS/OR has made an impact on business and the society, and will do so partly by describing successful applications. He will draw some of these applications from journals, but there are hundreds of successful benefits of MS/OR that are not published.

If you are aware of any such successful application in your organization or another organization, Dr. Singhal would appreciate if you would send him a one-page description with the nature of application; one-time savings; the annual savings; additional measurable benefits such as lives saved, pain reduced, and waiting time reduced; and other intangible benefits that strategic or operational. Contact him at ksinghal@ubalt.edu.
