New Partnership: INFORMS and ISA Programs Funded by Sloan Foundation

INFORMS and the Industry Studies Association (ISA) have secured funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to work together on two innovative projects. One project will establish an Industry Studies Best Paper Prize to recognize one or more papers published in INFORMS journals that demonstrate industry knowledge and engagement at the academic/practice interface as well as research excellence. The second project will organize industry studies panels, with the goal of bringing cutting-edge academic work on particular topics to industry practitioners and policy makers. Panelists will be drawn from several academic disciplines and will participate in substantial preparation, including a one-day preparatory workshop to promote an open exchange of ideas. The panel presentation itself will then be scheduled for an INFORMS Practice Conference in the spring.
