Edelman Award and INFORMS Prize Winners

2009 Edelman Winners HPIn a sense, every team that reaches the Edelman Award finalist stage is a winner---and this year, that means CSX Transportation, HP, IBM, Marriott International, Norske Skog, and Zara. Nevertheless, the Edelman judges heard all the teams, deliberated, and announced a winner: HP, for its extraordinary work paring down its many products and features with the help of O.R. tools. Visit http://www.scienceofbetter.org/Edelman for full coverage, including a new video introducing the Edelman competition, the program book, links to articles in The New York Times and BusinessWeek, and much more.

Congratulations also go to Intel, who won this year's INFORMS Prize. Intel Chair Craig Barrett accepted the award, presented at the INFORMS Practice meeting, on Intel's behalf. Learn more at http://www.informs.org/article.php?id=1587.
