Don't Forget to Pick Up Your Free 2008 TutORials in Operations Research CD! Bonus - Meet an Author!
Make sure you pick up your TutORials CD!Pick up your complimentary copy of the 2008 TutORials in Operations Research CD at two locations: the Registration Desk and INFORMS Booth #701 in the exhibit hall. Find the special tear-out in your printed program and bring it with you to receive your complimentary CD.

The 2008 CD - the most comprehensive yet - includes 15 of the 18 tutorials presented at the meeting. Books and additional CDs will be available for sale at the INFORMS Booth. As an added bonus, several Tutorials in OR authors will be available for meet-and-greets Sunday-Tuesday at the INFORMS Booth during session coffee breaks. A schedule for the author appearances will be available in the Sunday morning eNews Daily and at the INFORMS Booth.

Attendees must present the special 2008 Tutorials in OR tear-out from the program book to receive a free CD.
 
Community/Subdivision Meetings

Renew Your 2009 Membership at Annual Meeting

Registration Desk Hours & Location
Registration will be located at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Lobby Level. Hours are: Saturday-Wednesday, 7am-5pm.

Print-Ready Program Online
All registrants will receive a printed program at the meeting. To print out the entire program before arriving in Washington, go to http://meetings.informs.org/DC08/program.html. You will find PDF files for all four days of the meeting.

AV: Bring your Laptop for LCD
Hands on  computer keyboardLCD (computer) projectors will be available in every technical session room. If you plan to use an LCD, you must bring your laptop (or share with another presenter) and AC power adaptor. Technical assistance will be available for any AV problems.

 
 

Email Center - Wireless Access
Internet access is available in two locations. If you bring your laptop, you can use the wireless access in the Exhibit Hall. If you do not have a laptop, a limited number of computers will be available in our Email Center next to the Exhibit Hall. Name badges must be worn for admittance. Email access will be available Sunday-Wednesday, 9am-5pm.

Saturday Workshops & Other Events
If you are arriving early, take advantage of the workshops scheduled for Saturday: Data Mining-Health Informatics (DH-MI) ($50) and complimentary workshops presented by 16 software vendors. If you have not registered for a workshop and wish to do so, stop by the INFORMS Registration Desk at the Marriott on Saturday. Registration will be on a space-available basis. All Saturday programs will be held at the Marriott; this includes CIST, the Combined Colloquia, and the OR Practice in Africa meetings.
 
Badge Required for Technical Sessions
Your DC 2008 registration badge must be worn to all meeting events. All attendees, including speakers and session chairs, must register and pay the registration fee. Lost badges can be replaced at the Registration Desk ($5 fee).
Interactive Sessions
Poster Display at INFORMS Annual MeetingBe sure to stop by the Interactive Sessions on Monday and Tuesday, 12:30-1:30pm in the Exhibit Hall. 100 posters and laptop demonstrations on diverse OR/MS topics will be on display. Authors will be on hand to describe their work during these times.
 
Congratulations to our 25+ Year Members!
If you have been an ORSA-TIMS-INFORMS member for 25 or more years, stop by the INFORMS Booth in the Exhibit Hall to pick up a ribbon designating your 25+ year membership. We salute our long-time members!

Membership Meeting and Reception on Saturday
The INFORMS Board encourages members to bring your ideas, opinions, and suggestions to the membership meeting on Saturday, 5-6 pm, Marriott, Washington 5-6, Exhibit Level.
 
New Member Breakfast on Sunday
New to INFORMS or attending your first Annual Meeting? Plan to attend the New Member Breakfast on Sunday morning, 7-8 am, Marriott, Thurgood Marshall East and South Rooms.
New members will receive a ticket for the breakfast with their registration materials.
 
Welcome Reception on Sunday
The perfect venue to meet with colleagues, visit the exhibits and enjoy some good food on Sunday, 7:30-9:00pm, Marriott, Exhibit Hall A.

Awards Ceremony and Dessert Reception on Sunday
Celebrate the achievements of your colleagues on Sunday, 8:30-9:45pm, Marriott Ballroom 2, Lobby Level.
Attend the Welcome Reception first and then walk upstairs for the Awards Ceremony. A dessert reception will follow the ceremony.

General Reception on Tuesday Evening
The Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum will host this year's General Reception, with all the major exhibits open to our attendees. The General Reception takes place on Tuesday, 7:30-9:30pm (buses begin departing from the Marriott and Omni at 7:00pm). Information on bus transportation and event details will be in your printed program.

Academic and Practitioner Lunch on Tuesday
This popular networking event brings together academics and practitioners for lunch and discussion around common interests. If you haven't signed up yet, tickets may still be available - go to the INFORMS registration desk. Fee: $30.
