Winners in our Technical Publications, Art, and Online Communication Competition will be honored at the 36th Annual STC Chicago Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Join us for this community celebration! You'll have an opportunity to view the winning entries before dinner and meet this year's award-winners in person.

Instructional Design for Technical Communicators

This course provides strategies, techniques, and templates used to create effective and engaging training programs that help improve productivity and performance in the workplace. The strategies, techniques, and templates presented are based on theories and models commonly accepted in the instructional design discipline as best practices. Participants will learn how to vary activities to stimulate interest, cater to different learning styles and preferences, and allow participants to process information in different ways while learning how to choose activities that are appropriate for the content, audience, and schedule. Participants also will get an overview of different media and technology used in training design and delivery and investigate how and when blended learning is implemented.
