Writing for Global Audiences
Betsy Maaks, Tellabs | March 1 & March 15 (9:00 am - 4:00 pm)
When we communicate about our likes and dislikes, only 7% of the communication is conveyed through words; more than half of the communication (55%) is through body language, with 38% through tone. If we are communicating through words alone, how can we ensure that our written communication is well understood by our audience, which is, in fact, becoming more culturally diverse and international? Writers have challenges to overcome barriers, both language and cultural, that inhibit clear communication. This course discusses these barriers to communication and provides ways to write unambiguously for a global audience.
