Identify that Chicago Scene!  Win a Prize!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a chance to put your vast knowledge of Chicago to work.
Each month, we'll display a different photo of a well-known Chicago scene or neighborhood in At-a-Glance. The first person who identifies the photo correctly in an email to us will win something from our prize stash. In the past, we've given out books, t-shirts, coffee mugs, free meeting registrations, even free workshop and conference registrations.
Think you know which famous building's lobby is featured in the photo above? Send an email with your reply to contest@stc-chicago.org. The first person to correctly identify that Chicago scene will win free admission to our November 8th Chapter meeting, "Brand Yourself without Getting Burned."
We will notify the winner via email and post the winner's name to our Chapter's web site.
Call for Judges ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Consider volunteering to be a judge at the 36th Annual Chicago Technical Art, Publications, and Online Communication Competition.
As a competition judge, you'll gain experience in giving feedback, see work in new formats, and network with other technical communicators. The responsibilities are minimal but very rewarding. Judges will attend an orientation session on Saturday, November 3rd. They'll receive instructions, support, and a small number of entries to review.
Consensus judging takes place approximately one month later in early December. Judges work together to evaluate entries and to assign the appropriate award levels.
Sign up to be a judge today
. You'll be lending your time and experience to a worthwhile cause!
