Congratulations, everyone!

At the STC Conference last month, STC Chicago received the Community of Distinction Award for a geographic community with 301 - 600 members. This is the highest community honor conferred by the Society of Technical Communication. The award was given for creative and effective initiatives that tell STC's powerful story and add substantive value to members.

Thank you for making this such an amazing year.

June 18 & 19: Web Content 2007
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's still time to register for the Web Content 2007 symposium which brings the latest in content management technology to the Midwest. You already know the Internet is changing how business is done, and what drives the web is content. This conference brings together nationally recognized technology, content, and marketing authorities to present the state of the art in web content management.
June 20: Web 2.0 & Its Impact on Technical Communication
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please join us for our last meeting of our program year as Scott Abel presents his wildly popular presentation from the STC Conference in Minneapolis (with new examples and content added since then).

The Semantic Web is coming and it's bringing major changes to the ways that people create, manage, deliver, consume, and share technical information. This meeting introduces Web 2.0 and its tools and technologies and examines how they are changing the landscape of technical communication. Discover how Web 2.0 methods make it possible to deliver content as a service and to empower customers to personalize technical content in usefule and exciting new ways.

The meeting will be held at the Carleton in Oak Park, and more information is available on our web site.

Door prizes for this meeting include t-shirts and other trinkets provided by vendors. In addition, Scott will be giving away a free ticket to DocTrainEast, the documentation and training conference in Boston (October 16-20, 2007, a value of $999, see www.doctrain.com for more info) that evening.
