Inside Wisconsin columns tackle state, tech issues

 Inside Wisconsin

Tech Council President Tom Still shares insights on technology, the economy and politics though "Inside Wisconsin." Here are some recent columns:

Learning from other states about economic growth - as others learn from Wisconsin: The coastal image of states such as Wisconsin and Kentucky is understandably limited, especially when it comes to how those states are incubating jobs in high-growth sectors of the economy. It's barely noticed outside the Midwest, for example, but business leaders in "Flyover Country" often exchange information about what works - and what doesn't - when it comes to stimulating tech-based economic growth....Read more.

Cray's supercomputers help put Wisconsin technology on the world map: Until now, if you heard the words "petaflop," "teraflop" and "exaflop," you might have thought they described something your dog left on the neighbor's lawn, your personal life and your career... in that order.....Read more.

Transforming Wisconsin's economy will help meet 21st century challenges: Wisconsin's economy has been made and remade over time. Nineteenth century wheat fields gave way to modern dairy farms and cranberry bogs; territorial lead mines and turn-of-the-century logging camps eventually bowed to world-class manufacturing....Read more.
