Top 12 in Gov's Biz Plan Contest compete for grand prize Tuesday | |
A talented line-up of finalists in the seventh annual Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest will compete for the contest's top cash and in-kind prizes Tuesday during the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Conference at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.
The Top 12 listed here will present beginning 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Pfister, 424 E. Wisconsin Ave., and ending just before the evening reception. About $200,000 in cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded to those contestants and 13 other finalists. The contest's grand prize is worth $50,000.

| Aug. 11 Resource Rendezvous will bring DoD experts, more, to Madison | |
The fourth annual Resource Rendezvous will be held Aug. 11, 2010, at the UW-Madison College of Engineering. Please join us to hear from representatives of major federal agencies with research and development programs, especially around defense, homeland security and energy.
Speakers include: George Solhan of the Office of Naval Research and Gregory Milman of the National Institutes of Health, as well as representatives of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) and various branches of the Department of Defense. Tracks will focus on writing SBIR proposals, an overview of federal research agendas and tech transfer from national labs.

| Tech leaders survey shows hiring plans, economic optimism on rise | | | Click here to read a WisBusiness.com story on the latest "Tech Leaders Survey," which is conducted by WisBusiness.com, The Luminis Group and the Wisconsin Technology Council. The survey, conducted at the end of the first quarter, showed increased optimism about the economy among the nearly 200 tech executives surveyed.
