These summaries are due by 5 p.m. March 11. Lilly will review your summary and those of interest will be invited for additional discussions in late April 2009.

Series on tech education and workforce continues
Coming up:
March 5, 2009  - Chula Vista Center, Wisconsin Dells
 
"Educating a Tech-Savvy Workforce," a series of presentations on the importance of science, technology, engineering and math education to Wisconsin's workforce, has visited five communities this winter. They were Wausau, Oshkosh, Stevens Point, Janesville and Eau Claire.
 
Tech Council President Tom Still will speak on STEM education Thursday at the Wisconsin Technology Education Association in the Wisconsin Dells. His topic is "Advancing STEM education in tough times: Does the public share your sense of urgency?" To view the series presentation schedule and coverage of previous events click here.

'Wisconsin Edge' series highlights state's R&D base
Coming up:
April 27, 2009 - Fond du Lac Noon Rotary
 
Three presentations have taken place in the Tech Council's "Wisconsin Edge" series, which is making the connection between the state's academic research and development activity and economic growth.
 
Groups in Janesville, Madison and Appleton have heard presentation thus far. Scheduled are presentations to Rotary Clubs in Fond du Lac (April 27), Oshkosh (July 6) and Green Bay (July 27). Download a copy of the Tech Council's report on "The Economic Value of Academic Research and Development in Wisconsin."
