State trade missions a good deal

 

Cynics have insinuated that the trade missions from North Dakota to countries far and wide are little but junkets and mere window-dressing. That's harsh and unjust. Markets have been established in Cuba and countries in the Orient. Contracts have been made.

ND tops nation in export growth

ND Exports 2007

North Dakota is outpacing all other states in the international marketplace. The state's exporters increased their international sales by 34 percent last year - more than any other state and nearly three times the national average of 12 percent, the U.S. Department of Commerce reports.

ND gains markets in Colombia, Peru

 

Members of a trade delegation to Colombia and Peru are negotiating to supply some of the countries' largest food buyers with North Dakota-grown peas and lentils.

Specialists join Trade Office team

 

North Dakota exporters can draw on the expertise of two new Trade Office team members to succeed in the global marketplace.
 

The Trade Office has hired veteran value-added foods marketer Larry White to serve the state's processors and marketers of lentils, peas, food-grade soybeans and other foods. 
 

 

 
The Trade Office has also contracted Beibit Yerubayev, a former U.S. Department of Commerce trade specialist, to grow the state's exports of construction, agriculture and industrial equipment in Kazakhstan.
