Golfers and sponsors rolled out in support of the Lake Travis Education Foundation's 5th annual charitable golf tournament on September 26, 2007 at the Flintrock Falls golf course. "Fore" the Kids raised net proceeds of more than $40,000 through sponsorships and entry fees.   The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas team, comprised of Kevin Daly, Jeff Jacobi, Pat McMahan and John Test, took top honors in the tournament and were awarded first place trophies and Nike sunglasses.  Prizes for second and third place teams came from The Hills Country Club, The Golf Club at Circle C, Karen & Greg Winborn, Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill, and Iron Works BBQ.

Golfers were served lunch from Chick-fil-A Bee Cave/Lakeway, and the four person scramble began with a shotgun start.  Special tournament offerings included the Hole-in-One prize of a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban from Capitol Chevrolet.  Though no one was lucky enough to take this prize home, there were plenty of other competitions and fun events for the 136 golfers.

Lake Travis High School Golf Team members offered to help the golfers out by standing in for a tee-off in exchange for a donation to LTEF.  A "Tiger Woods" hole offered golfers an opportunity to drop their ball at a location on Hole #13 where "Tiger's ball" would have landed had he been making that shot.  Prizes for "Longest Drive" and "Closest to the Pin" were also awarded.  The last place team, comprised of Casey Cotton, Don Crook, Dallas Richard and Phil Gingrass, took home certificates for man-icures from The World of Tennis Spa.

Heisman Trophy Winner Ty Detmer served as Master of Ceremonies for the Awards Banquet, and the Lake Travis High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Kenneth Vise, served up musical entertainment.  Dinner was provided by Carino's Italian Grill.

Lisa Johnson, LTEF President, was ecstatic about the support for this event from the Lake Travis community and the wonderful work of Chair Katie Harris and the entire LTEF Golf Committee in organizing and running the golf tournament. "We are so thankful for the wonderful support of our anonymous Title Sponsor and our Major Sponsor, WhiteGlove House Call Health, Inc.," said Johnson. "The significant number of hole sponsors, and the early filling of all golf teams just shows us how supportive our community is of the Lake Travis Independent School District and the efforts of LTEF to further enhance our students' educational experience."
