If A Tree Falls...
Two very large historic pine trees on the east side of Scarff Street came crashing down sometime around 8 AM Sunday March 27th. Luckily no one was injured and our building sustained no damage.

Trees Fallen on Scarff

Unfortunately a large portion of the historic brick wall that surrounds the archives was demolished along with a good portion of our side garden. Thanks to USC Facilities and Mike Oliveira for their quick action in caring for the situation.
never alone
Opens at ONE Gallery
never alone, a look at Tom and his friends, showcases works by artists from The Tom of Finland Foundation permanent collection. It opens Saturday April 2nd from 5 to 8PM at the ONE Archives Gallery & Museum.
Tom of Finland DrawingThe exhibition follows the Tom of Finland Foundations' historical journey from the '5Os through to present day. It reflects some of the greats of the 1970's Gay renaissance, artists that came to be known through ToFF's Emerging Erotic Artist Contests and ones who made the journey from countries afar to gain their notoriety here.It has been curated to display Queer kinship, love and affection for each other, brute force of sexual desire and the unabashed freedom we are known for in our sexual candor. never alone celebrates the diversity within our own community and honors the many who have left their mark in our cultural garden of splendor.

Excitement surrounds ONE'S art collection
There have been some new developments in relation to the Art Collection at ONE Archives! First, we have received a second very generous donation from Kathy Garfield and the Aldridge Families who have been incredibly supportive of our recent efforts to catalogue the Art Collection and make it more publicly accessible.

"My Taste in Men" walk through

Second, we had our first off-site exhibition of artwork from the collection. Organized by USC MFA 11' candidate Onya Hogan-Finlay, My Taste in Men took place March 21-25 at the Gayle & Ed Roski Masters of Fine Arts Gallery and included an exhibition walk-through with ONE Archivist Loni Shibuyama and ONE Curator Mia Locks. Thanks to the support of Kathy Garfield and the Aldridge Families, people like Onya and others have been able to view the artwork from our unique collection and to use them as inspiration for projects of their own. We are so very grateful to Onya for the amazing job she has done and we look forward to more art exhibitions to come!
