March 15: 5 - 7 pm Annual General Meeting & Election of Directors
The 2011 Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting will be held Thursday, March 15th at the Ramada Inn & Suites ballroom from 5:00p to 7:00p.
Voting will take place by confidential ballot at the AGM.
The agenda will include long-standing member recognitions, Membership and President's Reports, and the Accountant's Report.
Reception with light appetizers and a cash bar to follow.

Members are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to mingle with your Board of Directors.

"Customers - The Centre of Your Business"

Serving Customers Better is a three and a half hour workshop that targets business owners and employees to expand on their definition of service and creates a refreshing approach to the important customer service issue that affects your bottom line. For anyone who is dedicated to being successful in business and wants to increase profits, grow their business and produce satisfied customers.
Great customer service requires that all members of a business/organization are focused and dedicated to this end. This workshop is an opportunity for business owners, managers, service providers, professionals, and employees to gain an understanding about serving customers better.
The contents include: defining who customers/clients are; providing information on "The Paper Factory"; discussing do's and don'ts of advertising; and providing steps for Great Customer Service.
This is an interactive, fun, seminar-style presentation and opportunities for everyone to participate are provided throughout.

This Grant Writing Workshop, lead by Aaron McRann from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan, and Tracy St. Claire from the United Way of the South Okanagan, will help grant writers maximize their chances of receiving funding by writing successful grant applications. After reviewing hundreds of grant applications between them, these speakers will deliver key insights into the selection process. Designed specifically for charities and not-for-profit organizations, this three hour workshop will help narrow your focus on the best possible angle for securing a grant. You will learn:
1. The Do's and Don'ts of Grant Writing
2. How to get inside the Funder's head
3. How to effectively tell your story
4. The Inverted Pyramid of Grant Writing
5. How to make effective in-person presentations
