Access to Wine Country Visitor Centre
We apologize for any inconvenience that the Railway & Power Street construction may be causing. For the next three months, Railway Street from Eckhardt Avenue to the other side of the Wade Avenue intersection will be closed for construction of the new roundabout and widening of the road.
To visit the Wine Country Visitor Centre you will need to go South on Power Street from Westminster Avenue and use the access through the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre parking lot. |

The Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the 10th Annual Valley Wide Business After Hours will be held on Thursday May 15 at the Cove Resort in the District of Westside from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Visitor Centre Report by Aaron McRann

The Penticton Visitor Centre is now selling tickets for the Okanagan Children's Festival and the Penticton Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival.
The Okanagan Children's Festival will be held May 22 to 24 at Okanagan Lake Park. Teachers call this the 'best field trip ever' and parents describe it as the 'best family event of the BC Interior'! No wonder. With an amazing collection of entertainers for young audiences from Germany, Russia, USA and all across Canada, this festival will amuse, amaze and move you. Choose from 20 shows with tickets for school groups at $7 and general admission at $8.00 ($7.50 if you use our new on-line order system).
Lined up for this year's event are some of the best dancers, actors, comedians, rock & roll circus, kids crafts, storytellers and much more.
Penticton's 7th Annual Elvis Festival is taking place on June 27 - 29. Sharing the stage with Gino Monopoli is this year's new headliner Shawn Klush who was chosen by Graceland as the winner of the first ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis, TN. Shawn was also the winner at BBC1's World's Greatest Elvis competition in the United Kingdom and Gino placed second.
Shawn Klush brings all the electrifying magic of Elvis to the stage. Shawn is . . . "The Closest Thing to the King in Concert." |

Contemplation
Twenty-five years ago, my friend Richard Exley read me some words I've never forgotten. Here they are: If I had my life to live over, I'd try to make more mistakes next time. I would relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been on this trip. I would be crazier. I would be less hygienic. I would take more chances. I would take more trips. I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets.
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would have more real troubles and fewer imaginary ones. You see, I am one of these people who lives prophylactically and sensibly and sanely, hour after hour, day after day. |
