Thank you for reading Pipeline and being part of the Tawonga
community.
It's an exciting time in the Tawonga office. Over the last month we have been recruiting
and interviewing staff to work in the summer of 2010.
We already have an amazing pool of applicants including
returning staff who will bring historic and programmatic memory and energy to
the summer, as well as great new folks who will offer terrific innovation and
inspiration to Camp.
Camper registration for 2010 opened earlier this month and we already
have a flood of registrations. We are so
pleased to be able to offer another summer of great programs, all at our 2009
summer rates. In addition, we have
budgeted to offer at least as much in financial assistance in 2010 as we did in
2009, $450,000. By offering this level
of assistance, we hope to maintain Tawonga's accessibility to the entire
Jewish community, to make sure every child can experience a meaningful Camp experience infused with Jewish meaning, values, and joy.
If you are moved by the Tawonga experience you, your child or
your family has had, please invest in Camp today. Your gift will
support camper scholarships, ongoing staff training and learning, and our year-round
work maintaining and building on the excellence for which Tawonga has come to
be known.
Thank you in advance.
Here's looking forward to a great summer.

NEW Programs
We are thrilled to introduce new summer programs to the 2010 summer season! Through staff innovation and participant feedback (thank you!), we have created programs that we think will continue to knock your socks off. "A Taste Of" programs: We know that going away to camp can be a big step for kids and parents alike. That's why we've created A Taste of Camp and A Taste of Quest, two programs designed to give younger campers a chance to check out Camp for a 6-day period, long enough to feel like they've really been away (without being away too long). Northern Rockies Quest: The majestic Rocky Mountains are the backdrop for this amazing adventure. Teens entering 9th and 10th grades will explore the beauty of the Beartooth Wilderness in Montana, Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Tetons. These three weeks in the backcountry will provide memories to last a lifetime.Surf and Turf Quest: Redesigned from a quest run in the late '90s, this quest combines two of California's best features - the ocean and the mountains. Teens will travel through Big Sur, the Channel Islands, and along the California coast while trying out kayaking, surfing, and more. NEW Ways to Make Camp Affordable At Camp Tawonga, we are committed to making camp affordable for all families. We know that in these times of economic uncertainty, families need to make tough decisions. Camp doesn't have to be a luxury -- it can be a reality. Below are some of the many ways we work to make camp affordable for all families.
We're holding fees at last year's rates: Our fees for 2010 summer programs are the same as they were in 2009. This isn't a limited time offer! These rates are available all year long.
We have ONE financial aid application that can be completed online in as little as 20 minutes. It's simple, short, and streamlined and makes the Financial Assistance application and process easy and straight forward. Half-off for first-time 6th, 7th, and 8th graders: Really, it's true! Campers who are new to overnight Jewish summer camp, entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades, attending a 2 or 3 week program, and who don't attend Jewish day school may be eligible for a generous incentive grant offered by the Jim Joseph Foundation (and administered by the Foundation for Jewish Camp). Sound too good to be true? It's not! For more information, check out onehappycamper.org.
There are even more financial options and discounts available. Check out all of the options now!
