Executive Director's Greeting

Shalom Chaverim (Hello Friends),

Welcome to the Pipeline, Camp Tawonga's e-newsletter. As many of you know, Pipeline is the main route from Camp down to the river and leads to a spot where campers swim, have cookouts, use Camp's sweat lodge and play.  I hope the name, Pipeline, brings warm thoughts and feelings as you read about what's going on at Camp.

As summer approaches we on staff are more and more excited for our move to Camp, staff training, and the arrival of campers.  There is truly nothing like it.

The Pipeline is intended to be informative, concise and fun. This issue features information about how parents and others can see what's going on at Camp during the summer by visiting our online blog, a great opportunity to host Israeli kids for a few days this summer, and alumni updates.

We welcome your input, including submission of updates on alumni or events in the community. Please forward items to Jed Herman, Director of Donor Engagement and Agency Advancement, at [email protected].

Thank you so much for being a valued part of the Tawonga community. Here's to a wonderful summer!

B'Shalom,

Adam Weisberg
Executive Director
Host an Israeli Teen this Summer!
Cross-Cultural Opportunity to Host Israeli Campers and Staff
This summer we will again welcome a group of Israelis as campers and staff at Camp Tawonga through our Noar L'Noar program.  Please help us welcome them into the camp community by hosting two or more of them for three days between when they arrive in San Francisco and when they go to camp.  Hosts from past years say this is one of their most memorable Camp Tawonga experiences and an important way of maintaining a connection with Israel and Israelis.

While in the Bay Area, the teens and the three Israeli staff accompanying them will spend most of their time doing activities with Tawonga staff.  As hosts, we ask that you meet the teens at SFO when they arrive Thursday, July 23 and host them as overnight guests until they depart for camp on Sunday, July 26.  On Friday and Saturday there will be organized programs for the teens during the day starting and ending at Camp Tawonga's downtown SF office.

Hosting dates: Thursday, July 23 -Sunday morning, July 26

Please rsvp or direct any questions to Teen Program Coordinator Aaron Mandel at [email protected] or at 415-543-2267 x102. Thank you for your generous consideration.
