Congress 2012 concludes with great success
With over 7,400 attendees and featuring keynotes by luminaries like Margaret Atwood and His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, the 2012 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, which took place from May 26 to June 2 at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo, was a great success. CFHSS thanks the Kitchener-Waterloo community for its hand in the success of Congress.

You can still relive some of Congress's best moments by visiting the Congress blog and by watching our Congress Big Thinking video series.

Last month, the University of Ottawa and CFHSS proudly announced that the 2015 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences will be hosted by the University of Ottawa in the nation's capital. Read the official press release here.

CIHR has a new Guide to Evaluation in Health Research
The Guide to Evaluation in Health Research was developed for researchers and reviewers who want to build their knowledge and skill in the area of evaluation of health and health research initiatives. The specific objectives of this CIHR online learning module are to demonstrate the potential for evaluation to support evidence-informed action, support development of appropriate evaluation plans for research funding proposals, and facilitate assessment of evaluation plans by peer and merit reviewers. View the complete Guide, which includes an evaluation checklist and other evaluation resources, on the CIHR website: http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/45336.html
CIFAR is seeking a Junior Fellow for its Successful Societies Program
The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research is seeking an exceptional early career researcher to fill a Junior Fellowship in its Successful Societies Program, beginning in the summer of 2013. In this section we feature papers, podcasts and videos that-while part of our archives-are still relevant to current events.

Last month, Bill C-11, the Copyright Modernization Act, passed the House of Commons. CFHSS was involved in the consultation process for Bill C-32, the act's previous iteration. Read our response to Bill C-32 here.
