Girls 4 Science had an exciting winter session. On January 14th Program Director Onome Alabi facilitated a lab making rock candy. For the first time participants were able to make and taste their own sweet confection. Students investigated how the presence of seed crystals changes the growth of rock candy.

G4S were the guests of Women in Bio at the Willis Tower courtesy of Marshall Gerstein & Borun LLP on January 28th. The Scientific Professionals Day featured a panel discussion from female innovators in STEM. Gray Hulick, Director, Global Alliance Management, Takeda Pharmaceuticals shared the importance of role models, and how you don't have to be a star in science you just have to love it and work hard to see it through.
