Feb 1-3 7:30- 5:00 Certified Green Build: At the end of this comprehensive 3 day course you will be NAHB Green Build Certified. Course includes the day long business management class. There is still a chance to register:

Lead Paint Certification Class
The HBA is hosting a Lead Paint Certification Class Tuesday, February 7th. 7:30am-6:30pm. The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP) which affects renovations in pre 1978 homes went into effect on April 22, 2010 an update was made to the ruling and went into effect on October 1, 2011. Who needs this training? Anyone working for compensation in pre-1978 housing whose activities include disturbing painted surfaces is subject to the rule, including but not limited to carpenters, HVAC workers, insulation installers, electricians, and plumbers. Incumbent Worker Training Grants Available Worker Training Grants available to reimburse for training qualified employees
Worker Training grants are available to help reimburse you for approved training for your qualified employees. To be eligible for the Incumbent Worker Training grant, your business must have been in operation and registered with the Montana Secretary of State continuously for at least one year. You also must have no more than 20 employees in one location, and 50 statewide to be eligible. The training that you propose for coverage under the grant must address the following items: - It must be an integral part of a plan for worker retention, skill improvement, and/or wage enhancement.
- It must benefit the business in terms of increased efficiency, productivity, competitiveness, and/or reduced employee turnover.
- It must benefit the employees in terms of increased wages, job security, and/or enhancement of the workers occupation or craft.
The training also must NOT be a regular and customary requirement for maintenance of the employee's professional or occupational licensure. If approved, the training grant can cover 80% of in state training, including travel and lodging, if required. If you choose out of state training, the grant may cover 80% of the training, and 50% of the travel and lodging. The grant can be up to $2000 per full-time employee, and $1000 per part-time employee, per fiscal year. All employees must be past their probationary period to be eligible, and must be permanent employees. Part time employees are only eligible if they work an average of at least 20 hours per week predominantly year round.
