Prayer

Amazing and Abundant God, you sent Jesus into the world to transform our lives through his suffering, death and resurrection. That act was and is the most spectacular gift ever given. It was more costly and painful than we can ever imagine. It was more grace-filled and love inspired than we ever can believe.  It is more giving than we ever deserve, and it was done for us out of love. Be with us this day as we go forth into the world and show that same love for others.  Amen!!

Greetings!

This Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord, Easter Sunday.

The Sunrise services is simple and the good news is announced.  The resurrection is witnessed to by those who attend this service, but the world still seems to not quite get it.

We then gather for breakfast in the fellowship hall.

At 10:30 we gather for festive worship that starts in the quiet and dark.  The choir starts the service by singing "Adoramus Te."  Then the announcement, Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed.  The lights go up and in singing and rejoicing we all come forward and place a flower in the Good Friday Cross, transforming it into a beautiful bouquet.

A thank you to all  those who are helping to provide our breakfast.  Those bringing breakfast at 8am, Brenda Coates, Sandy Clapper, Jan Dodds and Diana Brinkman, and those helping with the set-up, Jan Dodds, Nick and Joann Kittleson.  And a Thank You to those helping at 9am, Kirk & Sue Waldhaus, LaDonna Mapston, Kay Awe, Ruby Foster, Shirley Marris, Martha Enslow and Kurt Echols, with Ruby Foster and Shirley Marris helping with clean-up.

Matthew 28:1-10

Risen from the Dead

After the Sabbath, as the first light of the new week dawned, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to keep vigil at the tomb. Suddenly the earth reeled and rocked under their feet as God's angel came down from heaven, came right up to where they were standing. He rolled back the stone and then sat on it. Shafts of lightning blazed from him. His garments shimmered snow-white. The guards at the tomb were scared to death. They were so frightened, they couldn't move.

The angel spoke to the women: "There is nothing to fear here. I know you're looking for Jesus, the One they nailed to the cross. He is not here. He was raised, just as he said. Come and look at the place where he was placed.

"Now, get on your way quickly and tell his disciples, "He is risen from the dead. He is going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.' That's the message."

May the Peace of Christ be with you always
