BioDistrict New Orleans...Branding Complete

Formally known as GNOBEDD, Greater New Orleans BioSciences Economic Development District, has received an official name change to BioDistrict New Orleans and an approved logo. We would like to thank the legislators for their continued support.

Mayor Landrieu Supports the University Medical Center

Mayor Mitch Landrieu expresses his support of the University Medical Center being built in BioDistrict New Orleans.

Surrounded by about 30 political, business, education and civic leaders, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu on Monday called for construction of the University Medical Center, calling it "one of the most transformational projects that the state has seen or will see for a long, long time." Journey to the "Centre of the Cell"

It's James McNamara's, President and CEO of BioDistrict New Orleans, personal passion to discover innovative ways for New Orleans residents to be excited about biosciences. So when Mr. McNamara discovered the University of London and Barts and The London School of Medicine "Centre of the Cell" educational center he decided to explore the concept.

The educational center applies everyday life to science and explains complex diseases such as HIV, Diabetes and even stem cell research in an interactive manner, eliminating the intimidation factor. Mr. McNamara's vision for BioDistrict New Orleans is to bring the educational center to New Orleans.

New Orleans BioInnovation Center's New Location

New Orleans BioInnovation Center has now moved into its new building on Canal Street. The mission of the BioInnovation Center is to provide support and guidance to emerging biotechnology companies commercializing technologies primarily derived from New Orleans-based Universities.
