ABOUT THE FALL 2012 PRODUCTIONS:
Surviving Lunch- A Bullying Play (grades 7-12)
Delia, a teenage girl from New York City, moves to a small town after her father (a teacher) is killed in a school shooting. In her new high school, Delia is immediately faced with putdowns from the snooty, rich girls and handsome jocks who rule the hallways. Feeling like an outcast, Delia struggles to overcome her grief and start a new life. When she notices a boy repeatedly being bullied, she is determined to try to help. In the process she discovers the healing power of friendship. Surviving Lunch has been presented to thousands of middle- and high-school students by the national SOURCE Theatre Company of Sarasota, Florida. The play has evoked extensive post-show discussions and evaluations and is highly praised by teachers, administrators and students.

Wrecked (Grades 9-12)
Wrecked tackles the issues of alcohol abuse in the lives of teenagers and their families. The play is emotional, funny and realistic, and its issues are relevant to today's families, connecting to teens and the adults in their lives without compromising the seriousness or power of its messages.

Adolescence is not un-commonly accompanied by the social stressors that come with school responsibilities, relationships, and often first jobs. Unfortunately it is not unusual for youth to experience additional angst related in some way to alcohol use and/ or abuse. Playwright Chris Craddock has created an accessible theatre experience that deals with a significant social issue in an engaging and non-threatening manner. Through humor, intelligent writing, and realistic situations, Craddock provides a truly educational encounter for students.

Show Dates: November 15, 16, 17, 18 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7 pm, Sunday at 2 pm.)
Rehearsals on Sunday Nights. Will be offered to tour in Orange County Schools and will be offered on the In the Limelight Stage to Youth groups throughout the school year. 6 ROLES for females and males in Surviving Lunch, 8 ROLES for females and males in Wrecked. May be double casting both.

Disney's The Little Mermaid (grades K-12) - Musical
In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she's the girl with the enchanting voice. Adapted from Disney's 2008 Broadway production, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID features the hit songs "Part of Your World," "She's in Love," and the Oscar-winning "Under the Sea."
Show Dates: November 29, 30, December 1, 2 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7 pm, Sunday at 2 pm.) Rehearsals on Saturday afternoons, 12:30 pm and on. 30+ Roles. Large Ensemble.

The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus- Comedy Based on Book by L. Frank Baum (grades 3-12) - Play
Have you ever wondered just where Santa Claus came from? L. Frank Baum knew. The same man who created The Wonderful Wizard of Oz lets us in on his secret; the story of Saint Nicholas as told to him by Necile, the nymph who found Claus and raised him as her own in the world of Knooks, Faeries, Ryls and, yes, even the dreaded Awgwas. "Beware the Awgwas," Necile warns Claus. "they hide under beds to frighten human children!" And so Claus decides he must leave the world of the Immortals and live among the humans, making toys to make children happy. He gets help from Jack Frost, who shows him the Frost Gale which allows Claus and his sleigh to fly, and from two runaway Knooks, Lem and Barlo, who want to hear the children laugh. This delightful tale answers once and for all how Santa Claus made the first toy, why he climbs down chimneys and, most of all, how he learned to laugh that great "Ho, ho, ho." Show Dates: December 13, 14, 15, 16 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7 pm, Sunday at 2 pm.) Rehearsals on Saturday mornings, 9:00-12:00. 20+ Roles. DETAILS ABOUT THE AUDITION
