The Runaway
Treatment
Concept
The Runaway discusses the relationships between society and its people. It puts a human feeling towards a side of the city where most citizens avoid.
Sam is a teenager on the run from the wrenching rules of her family. She gets caught up in the twisted life of the streets and survival, missing her mark when she gets caught up in drugs. When the dealer comes to collect Sam's life hits a turning point.
Theme
The Runaway is about love and family. How no matter where you are there will be someone who loves and cares for you. The theme can be expressed as:
By choice, we have become a family, first in our hearts, and finally in breath and being. Great expectations are good; great experiences are better. Richard Fischer
Characters
Sam: Hates rules and loves her life. She is independent, friendly and naïve. At fourteen she sets out more to prove herself to her family. Instead she learns about love and who she should trust. Her ability to ask for help and lose her pride can be the one thing that separates her from life and death.
Bill:  In his late 30s early 40s, he wants Sam to go home. He is more of a protective older brother for her, taking care of her when she chooses to stay on the streets.  He nurtures her, even at times when Sam is too high to notice.
Linda: Is a strong woman in her early 60s, who knows her stuff. She was screwed by the system but still cares for the younger people on the street. Looked on as more of a grandmother figure, her advice is considered wise gold, and usually taken. She inevitably comes up with a plan to try to save Sam.
Dealer: A manipulative but handsome young man in his 20s. He is greedy and cruel. He puts people in a whole only to later bury them for his own benefit. He has no problem using women but tires of them easily.
Brothel Owner: Dark, controlling, and powerful, what he/she wants is what they will get. Not the kind of person who accepts failure and believes in punishment.

Auditions are at the University of Tampa in the Black Box in Cass Building.
They can email me at kheath@spartans.ut.edu.
They will be taking place between 6-8. Thanks again for everything.

Truthful Acting
Professional Actor Training

Only Two Seats Remaining!
We still have two (2) seats open for our next semester of Truthful Acting, starting Friday, September 17th at 7pm.

Overview
This 12 week Foundation I course, based on The Meisner Technique, works to free the artist from preconceived ideas about what acting is and how it is done.

Through a series of exercises and discussions which are progressive and become more complex each week, the actor begins to trust their own instincts, to discover and verbalize their own point of view and to work honestly from the heart, while forming truthful connections with one's scene partner. As the training progresses, the actor becomes more spontaneous and more organic in their work which leads to freedom and truth in their acting.

Truthful Acting is a 72-week progressive study program, based on the work of legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner.

Topics Covered in Foundation I

· What Acting Is and Is NOT
· The Reality of Doing
· Really Listening
· Trusting Your Instincts
· Working in The Moment
· Organic Spontaneous Responsiveness
· Truthful Point of View

CLEARWATER FILM FESTIVAL AND iNDUSTRY TRADE SHOW

Thanks for getting the word out about this. This is our chance to show the world that
we have advanced production capabilities in Tampa Bay and Central Florida.
We will be screening 72 films from around the world and have invited over 200
film industry guests.
Our opening night films originated in Tampa, Spain and Australia and the

Australians say they will be here.  I have at least 20 more RSVPs confirmed
from around the country and many more on the way I am sure.

A trade show is some of the best advertising a production or rental company can
possibly have.  Bringing decision makers in film face to face always works best.
You get a lot more quality exposure in person than you do over the internet.
Please pass this info along to everybody you can.  This is shaping up to be an
event not to be missed.

In our quest for excellence in creating the newest film festival on the planet we
have decided to take one step further than you will find at most inaugural
exhibitions.

The Film Boutique is the beginning of what we intend to become a film market.
While traditional film markets may offer festival attendees hundreds of options in dealmaking with industry pros, we have to start somewhere, so we can't promise a

thing other than space for you to park yourself and promote your films.

The Southeast U.S. does not currently have such an outlet for filmmakers and
distributors.  If you can't make it to Colorado, California, Canada or Cannes the
TCFF Film Boutique may be the right place for you to market your current title
or slate of films to the general public.  In the future, our goal is to develop this
into a full fledged film market and trade show.
Right now it is an idea.  A place for you to sell your movie.  A place for a production company to set up shop and say "Hire us".  What will it become?  Time will tell.  How beneficial will it be to your business?  There is only one way to find out.

As attendees enter and exit the Largo Cultural Center, they will be invited to tour
the "Film Boutique" where they may learn more about you and your film and
purchase a copy. This will be set up as a mini-convention hall during the festival September 29 - October 3 on THU 9/30 - FRI 10/1 - SAT 10/2 from Noon - 6 PM.
Your entire cost for all three days is $200 for single film promotion or $350 for
producers and distributors with multiple titles. This is a flat rate whether you use
your space all three days or not.
If you would like to have a table set up in a 10" x 10" space, we have up to 20
spots available. To reserve your spot, please submit the application form and pay
for your space with the Paypal button on this page, or to make arrangements for
a more dominant presence, call us at 727-599-5137
We are doing everything possible to encourage the participation of film distributors in our first year and feel this may be a step in the right direction.  We have accepted dozens of films from around the world this year, many with filmmakers in tow.  Whether you are screening at this years event or not, The Film Boutique is your opportunity to gain visibility.

We encourage you display your work, do good business and be profitable.

Thank you for your participation.

Film Boutique FAQs
What was the Film Boutique like last year? How many people were there?
The Clearwater Film Festival and the Film Boutique did not exist last year. This is brand new.
What do I get for $200? What about the $350?
You get an 8 foot table with chairs in a 10" x 10" space with an electrical outlet. Although the accommodations are Spartan, you must rely on your creativity to sell your title. Bring with you and display whatever promotional material you feel you need. Don't forget your extension cord.
Why do I have to pay more if I have more titles? It's the same space, right?
Right, but we are trying to give fledgling filmmakers a break here, who obviously compete on a different level than a production company or distributor with multiple titles. You're not scared of a little competition from a filmmaker with just one movie, are you?
Why does it cost so much? Why is it so cheap?
Glad you asked. Well, for one thing, we're covering your insurance and the building rental. On the other hand, it is our first time doing this, festival and all and we just don't know how many people are going to show up. One thing is for sure. People who go to film festivals like movies, so we're pretty confident this is a worthwhile setup.
What if I don't sell any DVDs?
If you can't sell one single DVD at a film festival, it might just be the movie.
Can I set up a TV and a DVD player?
Yes. If you need help with rental equipment, please let us know.
Can I have a backdrop and decorate my space?
You can bring anything you can fit in your 10" x 10" space and decorate it any way you like, but you are responsible for your own set-up and take down and there are no on site shipping services available.
Will my stuff be safe?
You should always exercise caution and common sense in high traffic situations. The convention space will be secured at 6:00 PM and reopened at Noon each day. TVs, DVD players and hardware may be left overnight, just like at any other trade show. Security is provided by Largo Cultural Center and Largo Police.
What if I don't have any films but want to sell or showcase something else?
Anything related to the film industry will be acceptable. Lighting, camera equipment, acting classes, headshot photography, even comic books are good examples. Luggage, kitchen appliances, jewelry or fragrances are examples of things unacceptable. Pornographic material is not allowed.
