Apalachicola Riverkeeper
hosts Sen. Bob Graham

Sen. Bob Graham

Sen. Bob Graham and John Robert Middlemas

Greetings!

This week John Robert Middlemas, Apalachicola Riverkeeper board member, hosted Sen. Bob Graham and the Graham family on a tour of the Apalachicola River from Owl Creek to the delta along with Dan Tonsmeire, Riverkeeper.  (Special thanks to our volunteer boat captains Mike Koun of the Gibson Inn & Tom Herzog of Carrabelle.)
Sen. Graham saw first hand the damage inadequate flows  can cause on the Apalachicola.  The Riverkeeper is proud to have Sen. Graham as an advocate on our behalf.  His record as a champion for the environment and Apalachicola River & Bay is second to none in the State of Florida.
Thank you, Senator, for your interest and your understanding of the importance of the Apalachicola as an economic and ecological engine in Northwest Florida and the Eastern Gulf of Mexico.

Riverkeeper sponsors Coastal Clean-up, Sept. 17, 8:30 a.m.
Join the world's largest volunteer effort. The Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Clean-up is observed each year in Franklin County under the sponsorship of Apalachicola Riverkeeper.  Help us remove trash and debris from our waterways - preserving wildlife habitats and sparing the Gulf of Mexico and the oceans of the world from the mountain of trash collected each year.
