Avatar is Analog Central
Close to 60 reels of analog tape were used, using up most of the supplies on the east coast, during the first quarter of this year at Avatar. The bulk of them were used by producer T Bone Burnett on his projects such as The Hunger Games soundtrack, music for the Coen Brothers' film Inside Llewyn Davis as well as the latest Diana Krall project. Our tape machines are in perfect working condition and the results never sounded better. If you need something done on tape, Avatar is the place to do it.

Movie Tunes Avatar Studios has joined a coalition of music professionals organized by the Manhattan Producers Alliance to bring more film music work to New York. A couple of events took place on the first and last day of the Tribeca Film Festival. The events were well attended and a strong sense of solidarity was generated.
Parts of the film score to documentary Knuckleball! was recorded in Studio G with producer / composer Paul Brill and engineer Robert Smith assisted by Tyler Hartman. Directed by Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern, the film was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. We are now into the summer movie season. In addition to The Hunger Games (soundtrack), some upcoming films with music recorded at Avatar include Moonrise Kingdom (film score), Inside Llewyn Davis (source music), Hope Springs (film score), and Killing Them Softly (source music, which just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival).
