Avatar Studios Newsletter - Happy New Year!
Jan 2012
Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero Greetings!

Happy New Year!  Nothing like a blast of frigid air to knock you out of holiday mellowness, start out fresh and look ahead to all kinds of new recording action. As usual, we take the slowdown around the Holiday season to make improvements to our rooms and our gear. Some of the changes may be hidden or too subtle for you to notice, but we hope you notice how smooth your session will move along.  Continuous incremental improvement is part of what we do to maintain a world class recording experience.

Duets II Album Cover Studio Summit at NAMM Show

SPARS (Society of Professional Audio Recording Services) is hosting a Studio Summit at the NAMM Show's H.O.T. Zone  taking place in Anaheim on Saturday, January 21 at noon.  The theme of the Summit is "The Role of Professional Recording Services in the Overall Record Production Process."  Keynote addresses will be given by John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls) and Russ Berger followed by a Master Class by Joe Chicarelli.  A panel discussion will further explore the theme with studio owners, record labels and engineer/producers moderated by Tom Kenny of Mix.  If you are attending NAMM, please come by the Summit.  Updated info can be found at the SPARS site.  Avatar is a proud member of SPARS.

2011 in Review

Some of the following info did not make it into SonicScoop's year-end list for NYC Studios, but we feel these projects are significant and noteworthy. They also represent the kind of services New York can offer and handle.

Looking back at 2011, there are two distinct groups of projects that stood out for us at Avatar Studios. The first group involves album projects. The second group of projects involves music for TV & film.

We consider every project we are entrusted with to be important.  We pride ourselves in giving our best whether it is a 60-piece orchestral session or a simple overdub. We want to thank all our clients for making 2011 a very special year for us. Happy Holidays and we hope to serve you again in 2012.
