PM for Social Good

Greetings!

Each year the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) receives much needed monetary support from generous people like you.  So, what do these gifts actually accomplish?

In 2011, PMIEF issued an astounding 136 scholarships and 4 distinguished awards!  We revised the Careers in Project Management resource and worked countless hours with our volunteers to translate our materials into languages like Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese.

This year, we are embarking on an additional journey.  In the February 2012 issue of PMI Today, we announced a new initiative focusing on students ages 13-19, and their teachers, with the aims of integrating project-based learning and project management education into their curricula.  We are excited to be adding this to our list of important program initiatives.

We are grateful for your on-going support.  You are giving us this amazing opportunity to create a world where project-based learning and project management education are the norm.

Sincerely,

Your friends at the PMI Educational Foundation

IMAGINATION AND PM SKILLS ARE A POWERFUL COMBINATION

PMI Chapters, Registered Education Providers (REPs), and individuals, worldwide, have the power to make a lasting impact on those who benefit from project management education by supporting our ability to share these very important life skills.  Yet, what does this impact actually look like?

Imagine for a moment, you are 13 years old again and have just been assigned a school science fair project.  You decide that you really want to build a water-powered rocket.  Yet, you don't know how to get started.  Anxiety and frustration begin to set in.  How will you ever complete this project?

boy by globeNow imagine that your class just participated in project management training that utilized PMIEF's PM Toolkit for Youth.  Suddenly, you realize that you do have the tools needed to succeed!  You have been given the power of project management.  Due to this training, you can get started with the confidence you need to take your idea and turn it into a successful project.

Today, you, the donor, have given students and working professionals the skills they need to turn ideas into reality.  You make it possible for people to become innovative, contributing members of society. Now that's what we call powerful!
