Greetings!
Did you know you can use your existing project management knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the lives of others?
You can volunteer your time at a local nonprofit/non-governmental organization, introduce project management to your local school using PMIEF resources, or help start a project management program for youth so that those students have the skills they need to enter a global workforce. There are many possibilities!
Below you'll find information and resources on how you can get started if you haven't done so already. Once started, we're sure you will find it an incredibly rewarding experience. Don't forget to tell us how you are using project management to make a difference in your community. We'll be highlighting those stories in upcoming newsletters.
If you don't have time to give, please consider making a donation to support the many programs of the PMI Educational Foundation, including scholarships, educational resources and programs.
Regards,
Your friends at the PMI Educational Foundation

THE PMI MUMBAI CHAPTER TEACHES NGOs PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and nonprofits serve the vulnerable and less fortunate members of society. Since 2008, volunteers from the PMI Mumbai Chapter have taught 75 representatives from 35 NGOs how to use project management to improve their efficiency and effectiveness, which ultimately increases the impact and reach of their services.
The training was delivered via a webinar series as well as face-to-face training sessions. Training materials were based on PMIEF's Project Management Skills for Life and PMI's A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). Recently chapter volunteers have concluded that the smaller, grassroots NGOs are better served via face-to-face training sessions.
In the near future, we hope to share the PMI Mumbai Chapter's materials with you. In the meantime, you can go to the Humanitarian section of PMIEF.org to find materials that you can use to help nonprofits and NGOs. |
