PM For Social Good

Greetings!

The number of individuals downloading PMIEF educational resources is growing at a rapid pace.

With the ever increasing number of disasters occurring around the globe, more people are downloading the PMMPDR and asking us how they can help. Although, PMIEF does not deploy volunteers into disaster areas, we support those organizations that do respond, and we encourage you to do the same.

Here are some ideas on how you can make a difference: bring this tool to one of your favorite relief organizations, volunteer your time to train their staff in project management, coach and mentor them through a project, help PMIEF translate the PMMPDR into another language, or simply make a donation.

Using your professional competency to help a relief organization be more efficient and effective when responding to a disaster will, ultimately, make a tremendous difference in the lives of those who are served by the organization!

Regards,

Your friends at the PMI Educational Foundation

GIVING BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY USING THIS NEW TOOL:

Nonprofit Intro to PM

Many project managers tell us they are giving back to the communities where they live and work by delivering meals to housebound seniors, volunteering in their children's schools, coaching little league and so on.  Some have even tried to introduce project managment to their favorite organization.

But alas, because nonprofits and NGOs often have a limited number of staff , most of whom have never been introduced to project management, it is best to start with the basics.

PMIEF has a solution - with two new tools (a presentation and a guide) for you to use when introducing project management to your favorite nonprofit/NGO. Once introduced to project management, you will most likely find them more receptive to your kind offer to further train them.

Please tell us how it works out.  Email us at pmief@pmi.org
