COLLABORATION w/STATE OF NC, USA

PMIEF & Volunteers from 3 PMI Chapters in North Carolina, USA Help Create High School PM Curriculum:

PMIEF and volunteers from the PMI Metrolina, PMI North Carolina, and PMI Piedmont Triad Chapters are participating in a state sponsored task force to develop a series of four project management high school courses for the State of North Carolina.

After the courses are developed, the State of North Carolina will implement them in all of its high schools and will present the courses to 11 other U.S. states participating in a regional development committee.  These other states may also choose to adopt the courses in their high school programs.  PMIEF, its volunteers, and PMI Chapters are truly breaking new ground in providing youth with the tools they need to prepare for the workforce and succeed in life!

NEW PM PROGRAM at AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL
The PMI Sydney, Australia Chapter has started a project management program at a local secondary school. Using the PM Toolkit for Youth as a model for the program, chapter volunteers deliver nine hours of lessons each week to the students. The volunteers are looking forward to spreading the program to other schools in their area.

REMINDER - Volunteers Needed
Would you like to see your favorite nonprofit using project management to be more effective and efficient?  How about a project management course in your secondary school or at your local community college?  With the help of your chapter, PMIEF can help make this happen.

PMIEF Chapter Liaisons are needed to help spread the word on how to leverage project management for social good in local communities.
If your local PMI chapter doesn't have a PMIEF Chapter Liaison yet, please encourage your chapter leaders to consider it. To find out more about the PMIEF Chapter Liaison Position click here
