 Q. What are the main benefits of FDTD Solutions 7.5?
A. FDTD Solutions 7.5 primarily benefits users who have access to a number of computers connected together on a local area network. With FDTD Solutions 7.5, sitting at your own computer, you can send out jobs to other computers on that network, and have results returned to your computer. As part of a parameter sweep or optimization job, each of which requires multiple jobs to be run, this can provide dramatic speed ups only limited by the number of computers you have access to.
Q. How many jobs can I run on my network?
A. The number of jobs you can run is only limited by the number of Engines you have, and the computer resources available to you. For every additional simultaneous job you wish to run, you will need an Extra Engine.
Q. How do I upgrade to FDTD Solutions 7.5?
A. You must uninstall your current version of FDTD Solutions before installing version 7.5. To download the installation package, visit Lumerical's download portal (http://www.lumerical.com/download.php).
