Installation Update
Good Sound Studio is back in full swing this fall with sound system installations across the region. Take a look at some of our recent projects:
- Quaker Valley High School: Installing a new integrated wireless-wired Telex intercom system in the auditorium as well as remote DMX connections for the lighting system relayed over CAT 5 cable.
- Mad Mex/Philadelphia: Installing the sound system in the new Mad Mex restaurant in Willow Grove. Plans are for 7 more in that area.
- Central Fellowship Church: Installing a complete sound system in the sanctuary including the PreSonus StudioLive 24 digital mixing console, QSC ADS282H main speakers, Audio Technica 3000 series wireless microphones and much more.
- Milford United Methodist Church: Installing upgrades to the current system including EV ZX1 series main speakers and Audio Technica 3000 series wireless microphones.
- Yough High School: Installing 3 new sound systems:
- The High School Football Stadium will include dual 12" speakers by One Systems.
- The High School Gymnasium will include an Alesis iMultiMix9R mixer with iPod dock and QSC Acoustic Design speakers.
- The High School Auditorium will include the PreSonus StudioLive 24 digital mixing console, QSC Acoustic Design speakers, Mambo 16x8 digital snake and much, much more.

We Need More Power, Captain!
With the demand for our sound equipment continuing to rise, and the need for more power in those systems, Good Sound Studio recently added 7600 watts of power with the addition of 4 Behringer B812 cabinets and 2 B1800D subs. The B812s weigh in at a whopping 1200W and the B1800 subs top the scale at 1400W a piece. Now that's power!
These new Behringer speakers are all powered cabinets meaning there is no need for additional power amplifiers which makes portability and setup a breeze. All of our equipment is available for rent and no doubt some of these speakers will end up at your shows and spring musicals.
We just recently had these speakers at the annual Dragon Boat Festival celebrating Pittsburgh's Asian-American culture. The event was held at the South Side Riverfront Park on September 17 and featured many performing groups demonstrating their Asian heritage. The speakers performed brilliantly and consequently we were asked to come back next year. Way to go Behringer!

Just For Fun (Stories for your amusement)
I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the clerk noticed that I had never signed my name on the back of the credit card. She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless the card was signed. When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to compare the signature on the credit card with the signature I just signed on the receipt
So I signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared that signature to the one I had just signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched. -Anonymous Police in Radnor, Pennsylvania, interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the "lie detector" was working, the suspect confessed. -Anonymous This person had a broken lamp which he wanted to discard. Unfortunately, the power cord ran under his refrigerator, making it impossible to move the lamp while the cord was attached. He decided to cut the cord, since the lamp was unusable anyway. He didn't remember to unplug it first. I found him in the hallway rolling back and forth. -Anonymous

Wow, where did the summer go? It seems like just a few weeks ago, I was relaxing with the family at Cape May. Now, I'm doing everything I can to keep up with the events on the schedule. I'm sure most of you are feeling the same way. But hopefully we are all re-energized and ready to get back into the swing of things. Besides, a new school year is always an exciting time!
