Often we've heard, "it takes a village to raise a child," where The Village encompasses a variety of personalities: parents, educators, family, friends, counselors, law enforcement and fire fighters. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes many personalities to successfully launch a new product in today's globally competitive world. But, in the case of New Product Development (NPD), these folks now include Management, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Research, Sales, Vendors, Suppliers, and, most importantly, the Customer. All of these personalities are linked together via New Product Innovation!
