What makes a community?  I was going to call this "Hell has frozen over ". On August 23, 1963 not far from Eastern Market Dr. Martin Luther King said"...It is a dream rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal". 
 
If I am a child of this dream being born in the 1960's then Detective Craig Leo 26 years old (Protective Service Police Department) and Eastern Market photographer Alton McDougle 21 years old are its grandchildren.
 Every weekend "we" celebrate our freedom, diversity, Independence and the best of America at Eastern Market.

Eastern Market exhibitor and creator of fragrance Sulaiman H. Abdul Basir has
been at Eastern Market since 1985.  He stared exhibiting at Market 5 Gallery now the
North Hall of Eastern Market with founder of Arts and Crafts Festival at Eastern Market
John Harrod.  One can now find Mr. Basir in the School yard on Sundays http://www.easternmarket.net . He makes fragrance from essential essences he imports from all over the world from Egypt to Java. He turns fragrance into incense, and oils.  His company is called Essential Fragrance Co.

Hell Raiser Says...
 
Il y a les gens qui  pense que c'est un peu chaud dehors peu-etre.  Mais pour moi j'ai les mauvais souvenirs de les nieges de 2009-2010.

Par contre j'ai faim. Bien sur pour l'ete on a besoin de les nourritures que sont bon pour la sante.  Pour example: Un Salade Nicoice et...
 
 

Salade ni�oise



Pour 4 personnes :

Pr�paration : 20 min


Ingr�dients :  

200 g de thon � l'huile (Tuna in oil)

12 olives noires

2 oeufs durs (hard boiled eggs)

1 laitue

500 g de tomates

1 oignon

3 c.� s. d'huile d'olive (olive oil)

1,5 c. � s. de vinaigre

1 c. � s. de basilic cisel� (chopped basil)

Sel fin, poivre blanc du moulin (salt and milled white pepper)

  



Pr�paration :

Epluchez la laitue, lavez-la, essorez-la et taillez-la en chiffonnade. Lavez les tomates et coupez les en huit. Pelez l'oignon et �mincez-le en fins anneaux. Emiettez le thon. Ecalez les oeufs durs et coupez-les en huit. Mettez dans un saladier les tomates, l'oignon, le thon, la laitue et les olives.


Pr�parez la sauce : M�langez l'huile, le vinaigre, 1/2 cuiller�e � caf� de sel et une pinc�e de poivre, en ayant soin de battre vivement.


Versez cette sauce sur la salade, que vous m�langez d�licatement.

Parsemez la salade de basilic. D�corez-la avec les oeufs durs. Servez.







Soupe de p�ches � la menthe

 

Ingr�dients de la recette :

6 p�ches jaunes (fresh peaches)

1 bouteille de vin blanc (white wine)

200g de sucre

menthe fra�che (fresh mint)



Recette Soupe de p�ches � la menthe :

1. Pelez les p�ches

2. Faites chauffer dans une casserole le vin blanc avec le sucre

3. A �bullition, plongez les p�ches, ajoutez 15 feuilles de menthe hach�es et laissez mijoter 5mn

4. Laissez refroidir 12hr

5. Servez frais en d�corant d'une feuille de mentheConseils :
