We hope you are enjoying your summer!  With less than a month before school starts again on Sept. 5, August is a time for orientation programs designed to help students feel more comfortable on the first day at a new school. Parents and students are encouraged to attend these programs:
  • Middle School 6th Grade Orientation - Aug. 13
  • WS Kindergarten Orientation - Aug. 21
  • RS Kindergarten Orientation - Aug. 22
  • MTES Kindergarten Orientation - Aug. 23
  • HS Freshman Building Tours - Aug. 20 & 23

Back to School Nights

 

Parents are invited to attend Back to School Nights at all Manchester Township schools.  This is an opportunity for parents to visit their child's school, m

eet teachers, and find out about daily classroom routines and expectations.  Back to School Nights are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the following evenings:

  • Whiting Elementary School-Sept. 13 
  • Manchester Twp. Middle School-Sept. 17
  • Ridgeway Elementary School-Sept. 20
  • Manchester Twp. High School-Sept. 25
  • Manchester Twp. Elementary School-Sept. 27
  • Regional Day School-Oct. 9 (begins at 7 p.m.)

Parents of Basic Skills students are invited to attend additional meetings at 6:00 p.m. on the same dates to review the Basic Skills program and services.

 

July BOE Meeting Highlights

  

District calendar revisions, a pilot program for iPad textbooks, teacher evaluation, and a new energy program were among the items discussed at the July 25, 2012 Manchester Township Board of Education meeting.

Eagle ScoutAlso at the meeting, Manchester Township High School senior, Christopher D., was honored for his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  Christopher's Eagle project entailed creating a time capsule for the high school, along with a garden in the area where the capsule is buried. Nick's (s)Mile of Quarters to Benefit Cpl. Ott Fund 

Help Cover the MTHS Track with a Mile of Quarters on Sept. 22!

Nick's (s)Mile of Quarters, a fundraiser to benefit the Manchester Township Educational Foundation Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott Memorial Fund, will be held Sat. Sept. 22, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Manchester Twp HS Football Field, 101 S. Colonial Dr.  Organizers are asking the community to help them cover the MTHS track with a mile of quarters.   

 

Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.  He was a graduate of Manchester Township High School, Class of 2006, where he was on the wrestling, track and football teams. Cpl. Ott died on August 10, 2011 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province. The Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott Memorial Fund is administered by the Manchester Township Educational Foundation and provides scholarships and support to the Manchester Township School District.
