Clean Audit, Financial Award for District

The Manchester Twp. school district received glowing praise for their financial reporting at the October 19, 2011 Board of Education meeting.  David Gannon, of the accounting firm of Wiss & Company, appeared at the meeting to review the district's audit for the 2010-11 fiscal year.  He praised the district for receiving an unqualified opinion, with no recommendations.

"This is the highest level of assurance you can get that you are doing everything right," said Gannon.

Gannon also congratulated the district for receiving the prestigious Association of School Business Officials Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 15th consecutive year, noting that only one other district in the state has received it more.

Kevin's Kids Need Your Help More than Ever

Our school district's Kevin's Kids Drive, now in its 29th year, provides clothing, food and toys to families throughout Manchester Township.

"Last year we identified just over 400 children who needed help and this year's totals will definitely exceed the record number of last year," said Kevin Burger, Director of Kevin's Kids.  "We certainly all realize the tough economic times we live in and more people will need our help.  I do not think that a day goes by when someone isn't calling me to ask for help."

"The goal of the program is to make sure that Santa Claus visits each child.  So yes, it is a Christmas Drive, but due to the recent economic times, it has truly become a Life Drive.  As most kids begin to think of their Santa Wish List, our families are hoping for things we all may take for granted.  Without our help many families will have to do without enough food, winter coats, and new warm sneakers.  Yes, what we do does provide a Christmas, but more importantly the gifts we provide help them through a long cold winter."
