2011 Teachers of Year Honored  

 

The Ridgeway Elementary School Media Center was standing room only as family, friends and colleagues of Manchester's 2011 Teachers of the Year came out to see them honored at the May 11 Manchester Township Board of Education meeting.

David Trethaway, Superintendent of Schools, said, "All of our teachers certainly do a great job and they often go above and beyond.  This is just one small way we are able to say thank you, not only to these teachers, but to all of our teachers."

 

Each honoree was introduced by their building principal and presented with a small gift and certificate from the Board of Education. [read more about each teacher]

 

Fern Schumer ChapmanVisiting Author at MTHS

 

Visiting author, Fern Schumer Chapman, recently spoke to students at Manchester Township High School about her books Motherland and Is It Night or Day? Both books are based on her mother's experiences during the Holocaust. Her visit was sponsored by the Manchester PTA. [read more]
 

Black Hawk Pilot Visits MS

 

Officer AmatrudoChief Warrant Officer 4 Gary Amatrudo, a Black Hawk helicopter pilot who recently returned from his second deployment in Iraq, visited Mrs. Irene O'Reilly's students at Manchester Township Middle School.  Using a computer slide presentation, he described his job and what day-to-day life is like for our troops.  [read more]
