Greetings!
Welcome back to a new school year. We would like to thank the Manchester community for supporting our construction referendum last September. Because of your support, repairs and renovations are being made at all of our schools. At the high school, athletic fields and the auditorium are under renovation and the 30-year-old carpeting in the media center has finally been replaced. The modular classrooms at Whiting School have also been completely renovated. Roof repair, carpet replacement and other work is in progress or already completed at all of our schools.
Although the September referendum vote was a success, as you may know, our school budget was voted down in the regular April school election. This budget had already been severely cut due to state funding loss and we were then faced with the dilemma of making additional cuts. Was your voice heard in this election? Please make your vote count by registering and voting in this year's school election on April 27. For more information and printable forms, please visit www.clerk.co.ocean.nj.us/election.
The Manchester Township Board of Education continues to be committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all students. As always, parent and community involvement is welcome and encouraged. We hope to see you at our Back to School night events in late September. Please look for our Board members, who will be handing out voter registration forms for your convenience. We would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have about what we do.
