2010 Teachers of the Year

The Manchester Township Board of Education honored the district's 2010 Teachers of the Year at their May 12 meeting.

"Our teachers are one of our biggest assets and we are very proud of our teaching staff here in Manchester," said Dave Trethaway, Superintendent of Schools.   "These teachers represent their colleagues as examples of what makes a great teacher.  The all have a passion for teaching and they always put their students first."

Manchester Relay for Life June 4 at MTHS

Manchester Township High School will host the Manchester Relay for Life on Friday, June 4.  The public is invited to attend, volunteer, donate, sponsor or support in any way.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at the high school and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Students Host Very Special Prom

Prom guests crowd the dance floorEach year the Interact Club of Manchester Township High School holds a magnificent Spring Prom for handicapped adults from our surrounding communities.  No one knows exactly how many years the club has been hosting this event but it is always the highlight of the club's year.  Volunteers from the community join together with students and staff members to make this a wonderful event for these special people who often get ignored.

A four course dinner is prepared by volunteers from the school's kitchen.  Students from our Middle School Impact Club and Whiting and MTES Jr. Impact Clubs served as the wait staff, while the High School students served as hosts and hostesses for the evening. [more]
