Hey guys. This week flew by quickly. Here are the volunteer updates, including some ideas for self-starters who want to head a project. See if anything interests you!
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities: HOW CAN I HELP? A lot of our volunteer opportunities are for special events like tabling or planning meetings. However, you can also help by organizing your own events or projects. Do you have a community service project we can invite Out Boulder volunteers to help with? Do you have a business, church, non-profit, or other organization that can host a fundraiser for Out Boulder? Do you have experience with something normal people don't? Can you do IT work on our Macs? Can you knit a blanket with the Out Boulder logo? Can you wash our dish towel with your load of laundry? Get in touch with me: volunteer@outboulder.org. OUTREACH HELP - FLYERING
Volunteers are needed to post flyers provided to you around Boulder County, primarily the city of Boulder. These can be posted at coffee shops, restaurants, on Pearl Street, Naropa and CU, and other targeted locations dependent on the particular flyer. 1 hour per week on your own time, at your own leisure. Help us spread the word about the great events and programs we have to offer! Contact Jen, jspolnik@outboulder.org or 303.499.5777. AUGUST 17th - DAY OF CARING Out Boulder will be hosting a service project for Foothills United Way's annual Day of Caring. We are going to be doing some painting! You have to sign up through the Foothills United Way website. They will throw a picnic for all the volunteers after the event. OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED Join one of our groups. We have a knitting club, a meditation group, an 18-25 group, etc. Donate items to the Pridehouse: LGBTQ-themed books, food, drinks, utensils, etc. Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities: DESIGN HELP Does creativity drive you? Can you put together simple flyers and graphics? We are looking for design help for flyers on occasion (perhaps 2 a month). If you would love to volunteer for us in this capacity, please contact Jen, jspolnik@outboulder.org. AMBASSADORS If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, please contact Mauricio: mshoup@outboulder.org. HOUSEKEEPING ASSISTANT We would like to find someone to come weekly for about 2 hours per week.
