What LGBTQ Health & Wellness Programs Do YOU Want?

Hey gang,

Out Boulder is aiming to build our Health & Wellness program and would love your feedback and suggestions for program offerings that fit into this category. I am part of the Colorado Frontrunners group that runs/walks on Sunday mornings in Boulder and it is just very comforting to be with other LGBTQ folks who care about the same issues as health and wellness.

So the question I pose to you, is what health and wellness activities are you interested in Out Boulder organizing? Would you like to see us offer a hiking group, beginners running club, lectures/discussion on certain health topics...? I welcome your input and would like to see more events like these. Keep in mind we DO already have a wonderful Yoga class (Saturdays and Mondays--see the spotlight on our amazing instructor below) and Queer Meditation Group (alternate Sundays) that I hope you will check out sometime. But what else would YOU be interested in taking part in? Let me know, and we can get it rolling.

Cheers,
Jen Spolnik, Out Boulder

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT:
Volunteer Yoga Instructor Ketul Arnold

"You can't DO yoga--get out of the way and let yoga happen." ~Ketul Arnold

We are so lucky to have such an amazing soul as our yoga instructor, Ketul Arnold. Ketul offers free (donations accepted) yoga classes for the LGBTQ and allied community on Saturdays and Mondays. He will also be leading a yoga session at this year's Boulder Pridefest, on Saturday, September 16 at 11 am in Boulder Central Park.

Ketul accepts a kiss from Richard Allon, a dear friend and  fellow yoga teacher on his recent visit to Boulder.

Ketul has been teaching yoga since 1974. He also trained in classical theatre and performed in many productions of Shakespeare as a premier actor and stage fighter. His teaching credits include, SUNY College at Purchase, the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, the White Mountain Dance Festival, the Juilliard School and his own RASA YOGA school in NYC.

He now lives in Boulder, CO and after a 7 year introspection is now willing to teach again as a public service for the GLBT community and anyone else who might want to might share in the fun. RASA is the evolution of Ketul's life experience, and of the love and courage of those who were his students and and at the same time his most revered teachers.

We hope you will be able to join us at one of our upcoming classes to stretch, meditate, and relax into the present moment.
